Chadian Referee Appointed for Nigeria vs Rwanda World Cup Qualifier in Uyo
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Chadian referee Alhadji Mahamat to officiate Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Rwanda.
The Group C encounter will take place on Friday, September 6, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
Mahamat will be supported by assistants Djimetolngar Ndolamb Ngomaram and Bamina Kontitsengar, with Djimetolngar Ndolamrdji serving as fourth official. Mauritian official Ahmad Imtehaz Heeralall has been named referee assessor, while Ghana’s Justice Yeboah will serve as match commissioner.
Nigeria heads into the fixture after a 1-1 draw against South Africa in Uyo and a 2-1 loss to Benin Republic in Abidjan. Rwanda, meanwhile, defeated South Africa 2-0 in their last outing.
The Super Eagles, led by new head coach Finidi George, will be looking to revive their campaign as they continue their bid to qualify for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
