AFCON 2023 Awards: Troost-Ekong Clinches Man of the Tournament | Full List Revealed

Despite the Super Eagles’ loss against the Elephants, 30-year-old William Ekong, the center-back for Super League Greece club PAOK and captain of the Nigeria national team, received recognition from Total Energies.

He was awarded after the match and also recognized for being the highest-scoring defender in the history of the AFCON. He got that with 5 goals and surpasses Steven Keshi who had held the title with 4 goals to his arsenal.
