Okechukwu Isiguzoro: Mr. Ekpa Has Caused Significant Hardship in the Southeast for Over Three Years

In response to news that Simon Ekpa, the self-proclaimed prime minister of the Biafra Republic government in exile, had been arrested in Finland on terror-related charges, a chieftain of the most prominent Igbo social and cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, said that the people of the country’s southeast had suffered greatly for more than three years as a result of Ekpa’s incessant campaign of fear, terror, and assault. “
The Southeast has endured considerable hardship for over three years due to Mr. Ekpa’s relentless campaign of fear, terror, and violence,” Chieftain Okechukwu Isiguzoro of the main Igbo socio-cultural organisation Ohanaeze Ndigbo reportedly told the Daily Post.
A stunning 22 trillion naira in investment potential have been lost due to his unlawful enforcement of the Monday Sit-At-Home directive, which has devastating economic repercussions. The tragic gang of armed persons under his leadership backed these actions, and our communities have suffered from the psychological pain and social implications.
In addition, Okechukwu Isiguzoro stated that the Ohanaeze Ndigbo is relieved and grateful to the Finnish authorities for their action in apprehending Simon Njoku Ekpa, who is accused of being involved in terrorist activities.
The statement emphasised that Ekpa’s recent reckless plans to proclaim a Sovereign Biafra Nation on December 2, 2024, jeopardised the peace and stability that the people of Southeastern Nigeria had been hoping for for quite some time.
