Naira Crisis: Buhari has to obey Supreme Court judgement, that is the country’s law – Oshiomhole
The Former Governor of Edo state, and Former Nigeria Labour Congress Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has slammed President Muhammadu Buhari for defying the Supreme court order of allowing the old notes of N1000, N500, N200 to remain as legal tender. Oshiomhole stated that the President is setting a bad example for the acceptance of court order.
He stated that he had once faced a similar situation of a court order going against him as APC National chairman. Oshiomhole alleged that he accepted his fate and stepped down as the party leader in respect to the establishment of the Court. According to him, the constitution supersedes everyone in Nigeria.
Instead Of Osinbajo To Support Me, He Said He Is Better & Experienced Than Me, But I Won Him – Tinubu Says
He said, ”The Nigeria constitution that created the office of President, that same constitution created the Supreme court. That Constitution says when Government makes decision and citizens are not happy and they go to court.
If the court rules in favor of citizens, the President must obey the Supreme courjudgmentnt. I was unfairly removed as APC Chairman in Court but I obeyed the court order out of respect. It’s not a big issue for me and I even needed a rest for myself.”
