Bode George Warns Sule Lamido Against Legal Action, Cites Possible Expulsion from PDP

Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Bode George, has warned that former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido risks expulsion from the party for taking legal action over his disqualification from the PDP chairmanship race.

Speaking in an interview with Arise Television, George stated that Lamido’s decision to approach the court violates the party’s constitution, which prohibits members from seeking judicial intervention before exhausting internal dispute resolution mechanisms.

“What he is doing can land him in expulsion because our rules forbid going to court before exhausting party avenues,” George said.

He explained that the PDP provides clear channels for addressing grievances through the Ward, Zonal, and National Working Committees, all empowered to handle internal disputes. According to him, bypassing these organs undermines party discipline and unity.

George added that similar actions in the past had led to disciplinary measures, stressing that no member, regardless of status, is above the party’s constitution.

He noted that the rule against premature litigation was established to preserve the PDP’s integrity and prevent external interference. George also referenced Supreme Court rulings supporting the requirement for internal resolution before court action.

The PDP chieftain urged the party’s leadership to act decisively on the matter to maintain order and discourage future violations. He emphasized that discipline and adherence to due process are vital to the party’s stability ahead of its next convention.
