Atiku, Obi, El-Rufai Coalition Could Defeat Tinubu In 2027 – Pdp’s Osadolor

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) believes that a united political front featuring former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, ex-Anambra State Governor Peter Obi, and former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai could pose a serious challenge to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general election.

According to a Vanguard report, the PDP says such a coalition, if built on trust and mutual understanding, has the potential to secure victory by early afternoon on election day.

Hon. Timothy Osadolor, the PDP’s Deputy National Youth Leader, made the remarks in Abuja on Monday. He highlighted the influence Atiku and Obi wielded in the 2023 election, where they collectively polled over 13 million votes—significantly more than Tinubu’s 8 million.

Osadolor urged the potential coalition leaders to put aside personal ambitions and political rivalry for the sake of national interest.

“If these talks continue in good faith and are not derailed by ego clashes, the country could witness the emergence of a powerful, people-oriented coalition,” he said.

He also argued that the Nigerian electorate is growing increasingly dissatisfied with the current APC-led government and is ready to rally behind a credible and united opposition.

“I don’t believe Nigerians would be opposed to such a coalition ticket. This alliance, if it comes to fruition, would reflect a larger movement—a collective decision by Nigerians to reclaim their future from what many see as a failed leadership,” Osadolor concluded.

The PDP sees this potential alliance as a game-changer, offering renewed hope for a government that reflects the aspirations of the people.
