Amaechi Challenges Politicians to Prove He Engaged in Election Rigging
Vanguard reported on Sunday, August 10, 2025, that former Rivers State Governor and ex-Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, has publicly challenged any politician to present evidence linking him to election rigging.
Speaking during an X Spaces conversation on Saturday, Amaechi declared:
“I challenge any Nigerian, any politician, living or dead, to produce evidence that I participated in election rigging. If anyone can, I will apologize.”
Amaechi stated he has consistently refused invitations to join election planning committees within the All Progressives Congress (APC), alleging that such meetings often involve malpractice. He claimed rigging typically includes the involvement of state governors and the diversion of public funds through government agencies.
The former minister indicated he may reveal further details if he secures the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential ticket, adding that he would work to prevent electoral manipulation.
Amaechi also expressed confidence in defeating President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections if nominated by the ADC.
Commenting on the 2023 polls, he said Labour Party candidate Peter Obi likely won in Rivers State, though the official results differed:
“I agree Obi won in Rivers, but how the results changed, I don’t know.”
