“If You Burn Down the Secretariat, We’ll Rebuild It” – Obio-Akpor Vice Chairman Responds to Wike
The Vice Chairman of Obio-Akpor Local Government Area in Rivers State, Sophia Nkoro, also known on social media as @MamaFedora3, addressed rising tensions following the recent local government elections and the violence that ensued.
Nkoro took to Twitter, tagging former Rivers State governor Nyesom Wike (@GovWike), and made a bold statement: “Nebuchadnezzar @GovWike, if you burn down the council secretariat, we will rebuild it.”This strong message was in response to circulating rumors and threats of potential damage to the council’s property.
So far, three local government secretariats in the state have reportedly been burned down by thugs believed to be supporters of Wike
.Nkoro further stated that any attempts to destabilize Obio-Akpor local government would be unsuccessful. In a related move, Chijioke Ihunwo, Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, has revoked the naming of the administrative block at the local government secretariat, which was previously named after Wike.
The building has now been renamed Dr. Obi Wali House, with the chairman openly daring anyone to oppose his decision.
