Governor Makinde Mourns as Older Brother, Engr Sunday Makinde, Passes Away at 65
Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, is mourning the loss of his elder brother, Engr. Sunday Makinde, who passed away in the early hours of Friday, January 24, 2025.
Engr. Sunday Makinde, aged 65, died at his residence in Ibadan at 3:20 am, according to a statement released by Chief Olumuyiwa Makinde, another sibling and the Bada Olubadan of Ibadanland. Chief Olumuyiwa, who also serves as the Head of the Aigbofa Family of Oja’ba in Ibadan, shared the sad news in the statement.
“With a heavy heart, I announce the passage of my older brother, Engr. Sunday Makinde, to eternal glory today, Friday 24th of January 2025,” the statement read.
The late Engr. Sunday Makinde is survived by his siblings, including Governor Seyi Makinde, as well as his children and grandchildren.
