Odumodublvck Addresses Stream Farming Allegations in Nigerian Music Industry
Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has addressed recent claims of stream manipulation in the music industry, asserting that genuine fan support and song quality ultimately determine success.
In a series of posts on his X account on July 31, 2025, he urged the public not to be misled by accusations of “stream farming.”
“Dear public, do not let them deceive you. No matter how much a song is stream farmed, if your song is good and the people love it, it will show,” he wrote. “All this one na small pikin scopes and antics, insecurities. Trynna prepare the table for in case you fail. Losers.”
He further argued that artists should take accountability for their performance, rather than attributing poor results to manipulation:
“Blaming stream farmers for your songs not doing well is like blaming the devil for your evil deeds. It’s the devil’s work? Na lie. Na your work. Your work is not good enough. Pity the devil.”
In another post, he criticized experienced artists who have not been able to outperform those allegedly using stream farming methods:
“Been in the game for so long yet they cannot beat the stream farmers. Waste of experience.”
Responding to a fan who asked how artists can compete with stream farmers, Odumodublvck replied:
“By making exceptional music… Dem no born any stream farm well, the people love the music. E dey show.”
His comments follow public statements by Blaqbonez and Magixx accusing unnamed artists of using artificial methods to boost streaming numbers on digital platforms.
The discussion has sparked wider industry attention on the integrity of digital chart metrics and the role of authentic audience engagement in artist success.
