Nigerian Singer Mish, Renowned for ‘Akwa Ibom Ayaya,’ Dies at 42
Nigerian singer, Michael Aniekeme Meshach, famously known as Mish, has tragically passed away on February 14, 2024.
This touching news was confirmed by a close family member on Thursday, February 15. Mish breathed his last in Abuja, after a brief illness, leaving behind a legacy that resonated with many in the music industry. Aged 42, Mish is survived by his wife and two children.
Hailing from Obot Okoh Mbiaobong in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Mish rose to prominence in 2011 with his hit song Akwa Ibom Ayaya (I Want To Go Home), which quickly gained popularity and became a viral sensation on social media.
Despite enjoying nationwide success with Akwa Ibom Ayaya, Mish seemingly retreated from the music scene, entering a period of musical hibernation in subsequent years. His absence from the spotlight prompted speculation among fans, but Mish’s impact on the industry remained undeniable.
