K1 De Ultimate Apologises Over Abuja Airport Incident

Fuji music icon Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, has apologised to the Federal Government, Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo, aviation authorities, ValueJet, and Nigerians following an altercation with airline staff at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on August 5, 2025.
In a statement personally signed on Friday, K1 described the incident as “unfortunate” and clarified that the flask he carried contained only water, not alcohol. He explained that he suffers from chronic dehydration and was advised by his doctor to remain constantly hydrated. The musician said the flask was empty during two security checks and was only filled with water at the airport lounge before he proceeded to the tarmac, adding that he had not yet boarded the aircraft.
“I acknowledge and deeply regret the concerns that arose from the incident,” he said. “It was never my intention to cause any disruption or violate aviation protocols. My unwavering patriotism and loyalty to the Federal Republic of Nigeria have never been in doubt.”
