Funke Akindele Responds to Criticism Over Wearing Ring Despite Divorce

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has addressed remarks from a netizen who criticized her for wearing a ring on her “marriage finger” despite being divorced.

The netizen, identified as @OriretanHonour on X, claimed that continuing to wear the ring might hinder her chances of finding a new partner.

He wrote:
“Funke, it’s unwise to still wear a ring on your marriage finger knowing you’re divorced. Even worse, it might chase away your future husband. Little things count now that you’re still famous, hot, and rich. Mind your public acts. Remove the ring now. You need a man in your life ASAP. Act fast. Be wise.”

In a straightforward response, Akindele dismissed the advice, prioritizing her financial goals instead.
“I need money! That’s the koko,” she replied.

The actress has experienced two marriages and divorces. Her first marriage to Mr. Oloyede, which began on May 26, 2012, ended in July 2013 due to irreconcilable differences. She later married JJC Skillz, with whom she had twins, but the union ended in 2022.

In a previous interview with Wazobia FM, Akindele addressed her marital experiences, stating that being divorced twice does not define her as a failure.
