Burna Boy Releases Eighth Studio Album, No Sign of Weakness
Nigerian artist Burna Boy has released his eighth studio album, No Sign of Weakness, a 47-minute, 16-track project that blends Afrobeats, hip-hop, reggae, and R&B. The album follows his Grammy-nominated 2023 record, I Told Them…, and continues his trajectory as one of Africa’s most globally recognized music figures.
The rollout for No Sign of Weakness began in December 2024 with the release of “Bundle by Bundle,” produced by Telz. In February 2025, Burna Boy temporarily wiped his social media presence, replacing it with a loading icon that fueled speculation about a new project. The campaign continued with “Update” in May, produced by P2J, a track that draws from Soul II Soul’s influence. “TaTaTa,” featuring Travis Scott, was released later and quickly gained traction on the U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart.
The album includes a range of international collaborations. Mick Jagger features on “Empty Chairs,” Stromae appears on “Pardon,” and Shaboozey contributes to “Change Your Mind.” According to Burna Boy in a recent interview with Billboard France, the project is “extrospective,” reflecting outwardly on his journey from Port Harcourt to international stages.
Tracks such as “28 Grams,” “Kabiyesi,” and “Born Winner” showcase Burna Boy’s signature blend of genres. “Kabiyesi,” referencing Yoruba royalty, underscores his continued engagement with Nigerian cultural themes. “Sweet Love” provides a reggae-inspired shift, revealing a more introspective tone.
Production on the album is primarily handled by Telz and P2J, with a focus on polished instrumentation and layered arrangements. While the sound is more refined compared to earlier works, it maintains the rhythmic foundation that defines Burna Boy’s style.
The album’s release coincides with several significant career milestones. Burna Boy is set to perform at Afro Nation Portugal and will headline the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado on November 12, becoming the first Nigerian artist to do so. He also recently made the 2024 TIME 100 list and has a sold-out performance scheduled at Stade de France.
In addition, Burna Boy will embark on a 360-degree North American tour across 17 cities, offering a live experience to complement the album’s release.
No Sign of Weakness is now available on all major streaming platforms.
