Why Mohbad’s Autopsy Was Conducted in the U.S. – Reno Omokri
The death of Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, continues to generate nationwide concern, with many questioning why his autopsy was carried out in the United States instead of Nigeria.
Former presidential aide Reno Omokri provided clarification in a post on his X handle, citing the destruction of Nigeria’s most advanced forensic laboratory as the reason. According to him, the facility, built by the Lagos State Government and once considered the best in Africa, was destroyed during the violence that followed the EndSARS protests.
Mohbad’s passing in September 2023 sparked widespread protests across Nigeria, with youths demanding justice and a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death. The autopsy was ordered to determine the cause of death after allegations surfaced linking the incident to individuals within the music industry.
Omokri urged Nigerian youths to avoid violent demonstrations that could lead to the destruction of public infrastructure, referencing the ongoing unrest in Nepal as a cautionary example.
