Sanwo-Olu, Osinbajo Attend Tribute for Late Awujale of Ijebuland in Ogun
Ogun — Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo were pictured together at a mosque in Ogun State on Monday, where they joined others in paying their respects to the late Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona.
In a statement shared via his verified Facebook page, Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed condolences to the people of Ijebuland and Ogun State, describing the late monarch as a unifying figure whose legacy will endure.
“Today, I joined others in paying my last respects to His Royal Majesty, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, the Awujale of Ijebuland,” Sanwo-Olu wrote. “His presence anchored the community for generations, and his legacy will continue to guide it.”
He further extended condolences to Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, the royal family, and residents of the state.
Oba Adetona, one of Nigeria’s longest-reigning monarchs, passed away recently after decades of service to his community.
