Amaarae Explains Why She No Longer Eats at Friends’ Homes

Ghanaian-American singer Amaarae has revealed the reason behind her decision to stop eating food prepared in other people’s homes.
In a recent interview with media personality Madame Joyce, the “Sad Girls Love Money” artist recounted a past experience that prompted the vow. “I went to a barbecue, and I saw the owner of the house washing lettuce in their bathroom sink. I was just waiting for the burger. But the moment I saw that, I said, ‘Never again,’” she said.
Amaarae went on to express concerns about hygiene practices in domestic settings, criticizing behaviors such as using the same sponge for dishes and wine glasses, brushing teeth in the bedroom, and improperly disposing of food-related waste.
“I don’t like mixing bathroom and bedroom things. Some people brush their teeth and walk around the house. That’s disgusting,” she added.
The interview has since sparked discussions on hygiene standards and personal boundaries regarding food preparation.
