Portable Granted ₦2 Million Bail After Arraignment in Ogun State Court

Popular Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as Portable, has been granted bail by the Isabo Magistrate Court in Abeokuta, Ogun State, following his arraignment on multiple charges.
The “Zaazoo Zeh” crooner appeared before the court on Thursday morning, facing a five-count charge, including conspiracy, assault, obstruction, possession of weapons, and conduct likely to cause public harm. Despite the allegations, Portable pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Additionally, nine of his aides were also arraigned on similar charges. The co-defendants, identified as Nurudeen Warris (21), Adetola Alashe (25), Samuel Adeleke (28), Oluwaseun Ayenuwa (19), Oluwapelumi Adeosun (20), Gospel Kanu (20), Precious Ohiegebo (19), Ifeoluwa Babatunde (27), and Fatimo Muhammed (26), were accused of felony, assault, and obstructing government officials while allegedly armed with cutlasses and guns.
The case stems from an alleged attack on three town planning officials—Abidemi Onabanjo, Ramon Lateef, and Akinpelumi Oyero—who were reportedly carrying out their duties at Odogwu Bar, a property owned by Portable.
During the hearing, Portable’s legal counsel, Oluwatoyin Ayodele, pleaded for bail, arguing that the singer had learned from the situation and shown remorse.
Granting the request, Magistrate O. L. Oke set Portable’s bail at ₦2 million, requiring one surety in like sum. The case has been adjourned to March 5, 2025, for trial.
