BREAKING: Nigerian Air Force Eliminates Numerous Bandits in Zamfara and Kebbi States

The Air Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA has successfully neutralized numerous bandits and disrupted their operations across Zamfara and Kebbi States through targeted airstrikes.
According to Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa, Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), these operations are part of Operation FARAUTAR MUJIYA, aimed at reinforcing the Armed Forces of Nigeria’s campaign against criminality in the Northwest region.
Key Details:
- Strategic Night Missions: Beginning November 8, 2024, the campaign leveraged advanced surveillance and precision targeting for nighttime assaults on bandit camps, including Sangeko in Zamfara and the fortified hideout of Ado Aleiro near Asola Hill, Tsafe LGA.
- Significant Gains: The airstrikes destroyed a key arms depot, neutralized scores of bandits, and severely disrupted their network.
- Rescue Operations: During the strikes, several kidnapped victims managed to escape and reach safety in Kebbi State, providing firsthand accounts of their escape.
- Local Impact: The operation has significantly weakened bandit networks, instilled fear among criminal elements, and renewed hope for affected communities.
