Makinde Reaffirms Commitment to Religious Balance at YOUMBAS 50th Anniversary Celebration

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has reaffirmed his commitment to treating all religious groups equally in the state. Speaking at the 50th anniversary celebration of the Young Muslim Brothers and Sisters of Nigeria (YOUMBAS) in Ibadan, Makinde, represented by Environment Commissioner Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola, emphasized his consistent support for Islam alongside other faiths.
During the event, Makinde congratulated YOUMBAS on its golden jubilee, commending its peaceful promotion of Islamic values. Alhaji Kazeem Olaniyan, CEO of Omo-Ola Travels and Tours, praised the organization’s contributions to peace and announced a N1 million donation to fence the 10-acre YOUMBAS City Centre in Ibadan.
YOUMBAS National President, Alhaji Abdulfatah Oloyede, acknowledged Makinde’s development efforts, including infrastructure projects that have improved the state’s economy. He highlighted Makinde’s reconstruction of the Adogba Mosque as a key gesture of goodwill towards the Muslim community.
Oloyede appealed for support from the governor and other stakeholders for upcoming projects on the YOUMBAS land, which include various educational and vocational facilities, urging contributions for the land’s fencing to prevent encroachments.
