Armed Assailants Raid Labour Party Meeting in Aba, Kidnap Party Leaders
Unknown gunmen have abducted two prominent members of the Labour Party (LP) in Abia State.Reports indicate that the armed assailants stormed a Labour Party gathering at a hotel in Aba, the state’s commercial hub.
The masked attackers, who provided no details, claimed they were operating under “orders from above.”The individuals kidnapped include Ceekay Igara, the Deputy National Chairman, and Prince G. O. Ndubueze, the Acting State Chairman.It is understood that Ndubueze was taken by force in an unmarked vehicle, sparking significant concern among party members.
In response, those present at the meeting voiced their outrage, condemning the abduction as anti-democratic and highlighting the worsening security situation in the state.
