Ayodele: Tinubu Lacks Solutions, Will Keep Taxing Citizens, Nigeria Facing Economic Crisis
Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has criticized Nigeria’s economy, describing it as “hypertensive,” and expressed dissatisfaction with President Bola Tinubu’s administration for failing to address the nation’s economic woes.In a statement through his media aide, Oluwatosin Osho, Ayodele warned that the economy would remain challenging unless a major reset occurs.
He expressed doubt about the government’s ability to implement necessary reforms. The cleric also predicted that more taxes on essential goods may be imposed, worsening the financial burden on citizens. He cautioned that without meaningful changes, the economy would go through troubling phases.
Ayodele outlined these phases as “shrink, process, burst, and eventually collapse,” stressing the severe outcomes if corrective actions aren’t taken in time.“Tinubu and his economic team are aware that they lack a solution. There is significant hardship, and they need a new formula to reset the economy,” he stated.
He continued, “This government will keep imposing taxes on basic needs, yet they won’t find a solution.”He further explained, “The economy is harsh now, and it will go through stages of shrinking, processing, bursting, and finally collapsing.
“Ayodele warned, “We must prevent it from reaching a point where people are forced to scavenge for food in trash bins. We are in an era of economic embarrassment, and Nigeria’s economy will become hypertensive.”
