Davido’s Father, Deji Adeleke, Claims to Generate 15% of Nigeria’s Electricity
Adedeji Adeleke, father of popular musician Davido, recently stated that his business operations are responsible for generating 15 percent of Nigeria’s total electricity supply. He made this statement during the Seventh-Day Adventist Church’s General Conference Annual Council on October 15, 2024.Adeleke, a billionaire businessman, elaborated that he owns power plants and works with Chinese engineering firms to run his operations.
He also revealed that he is currently constructing Nigeria’s largest thermal power plant, which is set to launch in January 2025. This new plant will have a capacity of 1,250 megawatts.
Davido, in a previous interview on the American podcast *Business Untitled* in April, mentioned that his family plays a key role in Nigeria’s energy distribution. He claimed that his family owns four power plants, which contribute significantly to meeting the country’s electricity needs.
