Galatasaray Coach Claims Osimhen Expressed Commitment to Staying with the Team
Galatasaray’s coach, Okan Buruk, has stated that Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian striker currently on loan from Napoli, wants to stay in Turkey past January.
There have been speculations about Osimhen possibly transferring away from Galatasaray during the January transfer window, with Chelsea reportedly interested in the 25-year-old forward.
In an interview with a Turkish media outlet, Buruk emphasized that Osimhen is happy at Galatasaray and is not considering a move in January.
Buruk noted that Osimhen has shown a strong desire to continue playing for the Turkish club and is enjoying his time there.
He added that while he doesn’t know the exact details regarding any potential transfers, the player’s happiness and wish to remain at Galatasaray are crucial factors in any decision.
“Osimhen said, ‘I will continue here, that is my thought’ since he arrived. He is very happy here. If he was dissatisfied or questioned his presence here, that could lead to a different situation,” Buruk mentioned.
“I’m not familiar with the transfer specifics. What matters most is the player’s desire. If he wants to stay, then that is a significant factor.
“But when the player comes here, he thinks, ‘I will not leave, even if there is a clause; I will stay here.’”
