Nigerian Police Spokesperson Responds to Video of Officers Seen Carrying Man on Car Bonnet
The Nigerian Police Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has reacted on social media after coming across a video showing policemen in Osogbo, Osun State, carrying a man on the bonnet of his own car.
In the video shared on X (formerly Twitter), several Nigerian policemen were seen driving a car with the vehicle’s owner clinging to the bonnet as they moved through the streets.A Twitter user shared a photo of the incident, writing: “#EndPoliceBrutality: 10th October, 2024 Rinsayo junction, Osogbo, Osun State, Nigeria.”
The video sparked widespread reactions, including a response from Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who tweeted that the Osun State Police Command had been instructed to investigate the matter.
He added that the Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Zone 11, Osogbo, has also been directed to take action.Adejobi’s response drew mixed reactions from Nigerians and social media users, with some praising his swift intervention and others expressing gratitude for his attention to the issue.
