Gen. Buba Responds to Asari Dokubo’s Threat Against Military Helicopter

Major General Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, has responded to a recent statement by Asari Dokubo, a former leader of the Niger Delta militants, in which Dokubo threatened to shoot down a military helicopter that was hovering over his residence. >
According to reports, Asari Dokubo made the threat after noticing the military aircraft near his home.
In his response, Major General Buba dismissed Dokubo’s statement as “laughable,” emphasizing that such remarks could only be made in a democratic society like Nigeria.
He stressed that the military remains professional and would not respond to such comments in an undemocratic manner, highlighting their commitment to maintaining decorum despite provocative statements.
Buba added that the military’s restraint is in line with its respect for democratic principles, ensuring that actions are not taken rashly based on individual threats or comments.
