AbdulRazaq Responds to Saraki: “We’re Bringing Stability Back to Kwara”

Ajakaye noted that a responsible government should have acted years ago, especially after the Ilorin master plan expired in the early 2000s. He blamed past administrations, particularly during Saraki’s tenure, for neglecting urban planning.
He explained that under Saraki’s leadership, the capital city of Ilorin had become a disorganized and poorly planned area where individuals in power or their allies could claim land and build with little regard for urban planning rules. This lack of oversight, Ajakaye said, resulted in environmental hazards that still affect parts of Ilorin today.
The governor, according to Ajakaye, has no history of appropriating public property for personal gain. Instead, AbdulRazaq has been reclaiming land and assets that were wrongly taken or sold during Saraki’s administration.
He referenced examples such as the judges’ quarters, Amusement Park, Galadimawa Estate, and other public assets that were either mismanaged or sold for private gain under Saraki’s leadership, calling it a massive and troubling exploitation of public resources.
