Govt seeks sustainable youth agenda

The Lagos State Government has said there must be a sustainable youth agenda to enhance quality of lives of the youth in the state.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Dr Aina Ayoola, stated this at a forum on the implementation of the Lagos State Youth Policy, organised by the ministry in conjunction with the United Nations Population Fund.
A statement on Wednesday said Ayoola, represented by an official of the ministry Mr Adewunmi Ogunsanya, stated that Lagos State adopted the National Youth Policy of 2009 with a view to having meaningful youth engagement to enhance their quality of life.
He said, “Evolving socioeconomic issues new and innovative opportunities and the peculiarities of the state made the review of the National Youth Policy inevitable and essential.”
