Nwaokobia – The President Is The Governor Of Abuja, And Should Be Standard The place He Desires To Lead From

Professor Chris Nwaokobia, a member of the Obi/Daati presidential campaign council and also a convener of the CountryFirst movement has shared his opinion regarding the issue of a candidate aiming to become president of Nigeria to have 25 percent in the FCT.
According to the professor who was speaking on a programme on Arise News, he pointed out that the president must be popular where he intends to lead the country from, stressing that he should meet the requirements set in the FCT, as such candidate is always the governor of Abuja.
Nwaokobia who made such opinion noted that the president superintendents over Abuja through a commissioner who is the FCT minister, and that regarding election, it was necessary that he also get the 25 percent of votes from the people in the FCT in order to be declared the president-elect.
In his words…”He must be popular in the state where he wants to superintend over Nigeria from. The president is the governor of Abuja, and he superintend over Abuja through a commissioner who is the federal capital territory minister, and in respect to winning or becoming the president of the federal republic of Nigeria, the constitution was clear about the FCT”
One will not be wrong to say that some have argued that for a candidate to be duly elected as the president of Nigeria, he/she must also take 25 percent of votes in the FCT, though, some have dismissed such claims.
