Deborah Oluwaseyi Joshua, professionally known as Seyi Shay, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and actress born on 21 December 1985 in Tottenham, London, United Kingdom. She began performing at age six and sang with the London Community Gospel Choir on a tour of 13 cities in Japan by age 14. In 2008, she was the lead singer of the UK girl group From Above, which was signed under Columbia Records and Music World Entertainment. Seyi Shay moved to Nigeria and released her debut studio album, Seyi or Shay, in 2015, followed by her second album, Big Girl, on 10 December 2021. Her musical style includes Afropop, R&B, afro-soul, reggae, and dancehall.
