Adekunle Idowu aka Idowest
Adekunle Idowu, professionally known as Idowest, is a Nigerian rapper and songwriter born on November 2, 1992, in Lagos State, Nigeria. He is best known for his energetic Yoruba rap delivery, street-influenced lyrics, and affiliation with the indigenous street-hop scene.
Idowest began his musical journey as a member of the underground collective M.A.F.I.A Gang, where he honed his craft in Lagos’ street music circuit. His breakout came with the viral hit Shepeteri featuring Slimcase, which quickly became a nationwide street anthem.
In 2018, Idowest signed to Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), marking a new chapter in his career. Under DMW, he released hit tracks including Ji Masun featuring Davido, NGNP (No Girlfriend No Problem), Kabaa featuring Mayorkun, and Theresa. His style merges Fuji, Afropop, and Amapiano influences into a unique street-hop sound.
With collaborations across the industry and a loyal grassroots fanbase, Idowest remains a respected voice in Nigerian hip-hop and continues to deliver music that reflects the pulse of the streets.
