Sodiq Abubakar Yusuf aka CDQ
Sodiq Abubakar Yusuf, known by his stage name CDQ, is a Nigerian indigenous rapper and songwriter born on May 6, 1985, in Ilorin, Kwara State. He holds a degree in Economics from Lagos State University.
CDQ started his career as a backup singer for DaGrin before gaining attention in 2014 with Indomie featuring Masterkraft and Olamide. His energetic Yoruba rap style and catchy adlibs became his trademark.
He followed up with hits like Nowo E Soke, Salaro, and Say Baba, and has collaborated with Wizkid, Davido, Tiwa Savage, and Reminisce. CDQ is known for blending street vibes with indigenous rap, maintaining relevance in Nigeria’s hip-hop scene.
