Oluwakayode Junior Balogun, professionally known as Barry Jhay, is a Nigerian Afrobeats musician born on February 13, 1993, in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. Raised in Lagos within a renowned Yoruba musical family, his father was Fuji music pioneer Sikiru Ololade Ayinde Balogun (“Ayinde Barrister”) and his grandfather was Juju legend I.K. Dairo. Barry began recording music around the age of five and developed a distinctive Afro-Fuji Pop style by blending traditional Fuji elements with contemporary Afrobeats sounds. He rose to prominence with his 2018 breakout single Aiye, followed by his debut studio album Barry Back (2020), which included tracks like “Ashe She” and “Ma So Pe” and featured Davido. He is currently signed to Cash Nation Entertainment.
