Victor Osimhen Speaks Out on Viral Galatasaray Fan Campaign
Nigerian football star Victor Osimhen has finally addressed the viral campaign launched by Galatasaray fans urging him to stay at the club beyond this season. According to Punch, the movement gained traction after Osimhen’s sensational performance in the Turkish Cup final, where he netted twice in a 3-0 win over Trabzonspor, helping Galatasaray lift the trophy.
The two goals pushed Osimhen’s season total to an impressive 35 goals, breaking the long-standing record of 34 goals set by Mario Jardel during the 2000/01 season.
Currently on loan from Italian side Napoli, Osimhen expressed heartfelt appreciation for the love and support he’s received from Galatasaray fans. “The messages and affection from the fans have not gone unnoticed,” he said, acknowledging the viral campaign. However, he clarified that his future is yet to be decided. “While I truly appreciate their support, decisions about my future will be made after thoughtful discussions with all parties involved,” he added.
Osimhen’s stellar form has made him a fan favorite in Turkey and also attracted interest from several top European clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, and Saudi club Al-Ahli. Despite the growing speculation, Osimhen remains focused on the present. His priority, he said, is to “finish the season strong with Galatasaray and help the team achieve its goals.”
As the campaign urging him to stay continues to trend online, Osimhen’s response reflects a balanced mix of gratitude and professionalism. While he is clearly moved by the fans’ efforts, any final decision about his future will come only after careful evaluation.
