Jose Mourinho tells journalist to ‘quit complaining’ before Man Utd showdown.
Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho had a tense back-and-forth with journalists ahead of the club’s upcoming clash with Manchester United this week.Mourinho was appointed Fenerbahce’s head coach over the summer, following his dismissal from Roma earlier in the year. On Sunday, Fenerbahce played to a 2-2 draw against Samsunspor, which left them trailing Galatasaray by eight points at the top of the Turkish league.
In the post-match press conference, Mourinho was questioned about his decision to bench Irfan Can Kahveci, who was substituted on in the 60th minute. Instead, Dusan Tadic, formerly of Southampton and Ajax, was chosen to start in attack.
In response, Mourinho urged reporters to “stop complaining” about his lineup choices.”I knew these questions were coming because you ask them every week,” Mourinho remarked. “You keep whining about the players who don’t play. You could ask why goalkeeper Irfan Egribayat isn’t playing, or why Cenk Tosun isn’t playing.
I won’t explain every decision in front of the camera. I stand by my selections. What I can tell you is that Tadic has been our standout player lately, not just because of his goals, but for the way he stabilizes and organizes our team.”
