CAF Addresses Super Eagles’ Difficult Experience in Libya
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially commented on the disturbing reports regarding the Super Eagles’ recent experience in Libya.The Nigerian national football team and their coaching staff reportedly faced a challenging situation after being stranded at a Libyan airport for several hours under poor conditions.
CAF issued a statement on its website, confirming that they are in communication with both Nigerian and Libyan authorities to get a clear understanding of what transpired during the incident.
The organization expressed concern and affirmed its commitment to thoroughly investigating the situation.CAF’s statement read: “The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has been in contact with Libyan and Nigerian authorities after learning that the Nigerian National Football Team (Super Eagles) and their technical team were stranded for hours in troubling conditions at an airport where they were reportedly instructed to land by Libyan authorities.”
CAF also announced that the matter has been referred to its Disciplinary Board for a full investigation.The organization assured the public that “appropriate action will be taken against those who violated CAF’s Statutes and Regulations.”The goal is to ensure accountability and prevent such incidents from happening in future African football events.
