AFCON 2023: José Peseiro Provides Update on Victor Osimhen’s Injury

Nigerians were stunned to learn that Victor Osimhen did not accompany the squad for the semi-final clash against South Africa at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.
The head coach of the team, Jose Peseiro has given an update on Osimhen”s injury ahead of the crucial game against the Bafana Bafana. According to Peseiro, he can not give any update on the fitness of Osimhen ahead of the game against South Africa.
He said,
The doctors will continue to work with him and confirm his fitness for the game later in the day. Until now, I can not answer right because it is about health. This afternoon, I can know better if he can play or not.”
What did Peseiro say about the game against South Africa?
He gave respect to the South African team but he affirmed that he wants to win the game so he can qualify to the finals of the competition.
Nigeria and South Africa have a lot of history together at the Africa Cup of Nations, the last time both teams met in the semi-finals was in the year 2000 when Ghana and Nigeria co-hosted the competition.
Nigerians will hope the team will beat South Africa as they continue their quest to win the tournament for the fourth time.
