Sunday Dare: Tinubu Approved Every Appointment I Received

Sunday Dare, newly appointed as Special Adviser on Public Communications and Orientation by President Bola Tinubu, has addressed accusations of disloyalty for his past role in Muhammadu Buhari’s administration. Speaking on Politics Today on Channels TV, Dare affirmed that every position he accepted under Buhari had Tinubu’s full knowledge and support, refuting claims of betrayal.
Dare explained that before taking up roles such as his post at the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), he received Tinubu’s endorsement and emphasized that his decisions were driven by national duty, not political ambition. He highlighted Tinubu’s instrumental role in the formation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and in supporting Buhari’s presidential bid in 2015.
The former Minister of Sports and Youth Development reiterated that his work was focused on promoting a strong democratic image for Buhari. Looking ahead, Dare expressed confidence in Tinubu’s leadership, believing that despite current challenges, the administration’s policies will yield positive outcomes for Nigeria in the next few years.
