Siminalayi Fubara Responds to the Passing of Former Rivers Governor
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Major-General Godwin Osagie Abbe (rtd), a former military governor of the state.
His passing has left the state and the country mourning the loss of a distinguished leader.
According to Vanguard, Governor Fubara described Gen. Abbe as a dedicated servant of the people, whose contributions to the well-being of Rivers State and Nigeria were immense.
He noted that Abbe’s death was a significant loss not only to Rivers but also to the entire Niger Delta region and the nation, given his roles as a military officer, politician, and administrator.
The Governor extended his condolences to the Abbe family, the people of Edo State, and the Nigerian military, recognizing the late general’s enduring contributions to the unity, peace, and development of Nigeria.
Governor Fubara prayed for the peaceful repose of Gen. Abbe’s soul and encouraged his family to find comfort in the knowledge that he lived a fulfilled life in the service of his country.
He concluded by emphasizing that Gen. Abbe’s legacy of service would continue to inspire future generations in Nigeria.
