Seyi Tinubu Denies NANS President’s Allegations, Calls It a Defamation Attempt

Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has strongly denied recent accusations made against him by Atiku Isah, President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), labeling the claims as an outright attempt to smear his reputation.
As reported by Punch, Isah alleged during a press briefing in Abuja that both Seyi Tinubu and Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, tried to bribe him with ₦100 million in Lagos. He claimed the bribe was aimed at securing his public endorsement of President Tinubu’s administration—a gesture he said he rejected due to the government’s failure to meet student-related promises.
Isah further alleged that after declining the offer, he was physically assaulted, kidnapped on April 15, and threatened with the release of a compromising video. He implied that Seyi Tinubu’s influence was behind the intimidation and would protect the perpetrators from being held accountable.
Reacting to the allegations via Instagram Stories, Seyi Tinubu dismissed the entire narrative as false and malicious.
“Hard to believe anyone can lie so boldly,” he wrote. “This is nothing but an attempt to tarnish my image. May God judge you, Atiku Isah.”
He insisted that he has never met Isah or had any involvement in meetings, bribes, or any form of intimidation.
“These claims are entirely made up,” he concluded.
Seyi added in another post: “Wow… how can someone lie with so much confidence? An attempt to defame my character. May God be with you, Comrade Atiku Isah.”
The incident has stirred public conversation, with many awaiting further responses and developments from both sides as the controversy unfolds.
