Senator Natasha Akpoti Confronts Senate President Akpabio, Vows to Retain Her Seat

Senator Natasha Akpoti of Kogi Central has publicly challenged Senate President Godswill Akpabio, insisting that she will not step down from her position despite his reported attempts to pressure her into resigning.
According to a report by AIT, Akpoti accused Akpabio of discrimination and dehumanizing behavior, making it clear that she will not be silenced. In a video address, she expressed her willingness to face suspension if necessary, emphasizing her commitment to representing her constituents, advocating for women’s rights, and defending the Nigerian people.
She revealed that she has endured significant mistreatment from both Akpabio and the Senate, stating: “Mr. Senate President, I have taken a whole lot from you because I don’t want to speak publicly.”
Akpoti further pledged to expose the injustices she has faced, signaling her readiness to challenge Akpabio’s authority. This confrontation marks a major escalation in their ongoing power struggle, with Akpoti standing firm in her refusal to back down.
While the outcome of this dispute remains uncertain, Akpoti’s resolve to fight for her position is evident.
