SDP Gubernatorial Candidate Akingboye Claims Past Ondo Governors Achieved Just 20 Percent Success

Otunba Bamidele Akingboye, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) gubernatorial candidate for the upcoming Ondo State election, has claimed that previous governors of the state have achieved only 20 percent success.
Akingboye made this statement while addressing reporters during a press conference in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, on Friday.
According to reports, the Ondo State gubernatorial election is scheduled for Saturday, November 16th of this year.
During the press conference, Akingboye insisted that the former governors of Ondo State have only been successful in 20 percent of their efforts, resulting in an 80 percent failure rate in critical areas of human development.
He highlighted that previous administrations have underperformed in key sectors such as education, energy, industrial growth, and economic development.
Akingboye expressed his intention to run for governor to rectify the errors made by those who came before him.
He also stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will not interfere in the gubernatorial election process, emphasizing that the public is closely observing the situation.
“All governors in the state have provided their services according to their capabilities. Past governors in Ondo State made 80 percent of mistakes, only achieving 20 percent success.
“When it comes to education, Ondo State used to be number one alongside Ekiti, but that is no longer the case. Ondo was also a leader in cocoa production.
“As of now, Taraba State has overtaken Ondo in cocoa production. These are examples of where they have failed to perform. We need to identify the right steps to take for Ondo State. If Taraba can be the leading cocoa producer today, why is Ondo State only ranked fifth?
“I believe Tinubu will not interfere in the Ondo State gubernatorial election because everyone is paying attention. My message to him is to stay out of it.
“The election will be conducted freely and fairly. It will be peaceful, and Tinubu will not leverage his power to sway the election.”
