Peter Obi Suffers Setback As Tribunal Steps Down His Petition Against Bola Tinubu
The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi has suffered yet another setback after the election tribunal sitting in Abuja stepped down one of his petitions today.
According to reporters, the tribunal dismissed the petition on Thursday following the poor schedule of documents being sought to be tendered to establish the allegations of malpractices during the Saturday, February 25 presidential election.
In the drama that ensued at the point of rendering the documents from the 23 local government areas of Benue, a lot of discrepancies were uncovered.
All efforts to reconcile the anomaly and reschedule the documents were unsuccessful as the errors were beyond immediate solution. The president of the court then ordered Peter Obi and Labour Party to go and organise the documents before the next hearing.
Peter Obi and the Vice Presidential candidate of LP, Datti Baba Ahmed, alongside the leaders of the Party, were in the court, to witness the proceedings. This is the third time the tribunal is stepping down Obi’s petition over poor documentation.
