PDP Leader Accuses Wike of Using Federal Power to Undermine Fubara’s Government.
Chief Emeka Charles Kalu, a big shot in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has told Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and ex-Governor of Rivers State, to focus on his new job and let Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, do his thing without interference.
This call comes after the beef between Wike and Fubara reached new heights, especially with three local government buildings going up in flames after the local elections wrapped up. Talk about heated politics!Kalu, who’s also the National Coordinator of the PDP Coalition (PDPCO) and heads the Global Initiatives for Good Governance (GIGG), is seriously worried about the chaos in Rivers State.
According to him, all this drama is throwing a wrench into the peace and proper governance in the state. He’s particularly upset about the destruction of those local government buildings, reminding everyone that they were built with public money.
He also dropped a truth bomb, saying that political power isn’t forever, so people need to chill and not go overboard.“Power is like life—it’s not permanent. Wike did his 8 years as governor without much fuss with key players, so he should give Fubara the same chance to get on with his work for the people,” Kalu said to *Daily Independent.*
He added that the mess in Rivers State could easily be sorted if Wike steps back and stops meddling in Fubara’s business. Wike’s got enough to handle as FCT Minister—Abuja’s a handful on its own!“As a mentor, Wike should give Fubara space to lead without pulling strings or using federal influence to mess with democracy,” Kalu added.
He also nudged the APC-led government to step in and keep Wike from causing more headaches in Rivers State, urging them to help avoid further chaos in Fubara’s administration. Fingers crossed for a resolution! 🤞
