Osinbajo Clarifies Titles for Former Vice Presidents at Book Launch
Former Vice President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, offered a lighthearted clarification on how former holders of the office are typically described during the book launch of Mallam Garba Shehu, a former presidential aide.
Speaking at the event, as aired by Symfoni TV, Osinbajo said: “People often mix up how to refer to those who’ve held this office. I’m the immediate past vice president. Namadi Sambo is the former VP. And everyone before him, including Atiku Abubakar, is a one-time vice president.”
Osinbajo also welcomed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and praised his presence at the event. He commended former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, for attending the launch despite his age and having postponed a scheduled trip.
The former vice president congratulated Garba Shehu on the publication, describing it as a valuable contribution to Nigeria’s historical record.
