JUST IN: Okpebholo Disbands Edo Local Government Service Commission
The Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has announced the immediate disbands of the Local Government Service Commission, assuring that ongoing official activities will remain unaffected.
This was disclosed in a statement on Monday, November 25, by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua. According to the statement, the decision aligns with the governor’s commitment to improving transparency and efficiency in the public service sector.
The move is part of Governor Okpebholo’s broader reforms aimed at streamlining government operations and enhancing the performance of public sector institutions in the state.
In his remarks, Governor Okpebholo emphasized the necessity of the dissolution to reposition the commission for better service delivery. He stated, “This decision became necessary to revitalize the Local Government Service Commission and create a more efficient and accountable service structure.”
He further reiterated the state government’s dedication to transparent and effective governance that delivers tangible benefits to the people.
The governor also assured that updates on the restructuring of the commission would be shared in due course as part of ongoing efforts to engage stakeholders and implement a robust reform plan.
