Isa Pantami’s Message to IGP After Minors Collapse in Court Sparks Reactions

Following the collapse of minors during a court trial, former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ali Pantami, publicly called on Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to take immediate action.
In a post shared on his official X account, Pantami urged the IGP to launch an investigation into the incident and ensure measures are put in place to protect the children involved, hold those responsible accountable, and prevent future occurrences.
Pantami highlighted the gravity of the situation, stating:
“Dear Inspector General of Police, I am writing to bring to your attention a disturbing video I recently came across showing minors appearing in court in a visibly malnourished and sickly state. This is unacceptable in any decent society. As a compassionate society, it is our collective duty to protect the most vulnerable among us, particularly children. Ensuring their safety, well-being, and justice is not only a moral obligation but also a fundamental human right.”
He emphasized the importance of upholding children’s rights and called for immediate steps to address the issue.
