The incident dates back to 2018, when Fasua himself was in the running for the presidency. He recalled meeting Peter Obi by chance at an airport and seizing the opportunity to hand over a copy of his campaign manifesto.
“I met Peter Obi at the airport in 2018 when I was running for president,” Fasua said. “I gave him a copy of my manifesto, and he assured me that he would go through it and get back to me.”
Fasua said Obi appeared genuinely interested and gave his word that he would review the document. But things took an unexpected turn afterward. Fasua explained that Obi became unreachable — not picking up calls or replying to messages.
“Things took a strange turn after that day,” he said. “I could no longer reach Peter Obi. He stopped picking up my calls and wouldn’t reply to my messages. To this day, I still don’t understand why he acted that way.”
Expressing his continued confusion over the matter, Fasua added, “I need to know what happened, you know, because I called Peter Obi and he won’t pick his phone anymore.”
His comments conveyed both surprise and a desire for clarity, leaving many to wonder what might have led to the abrupt breakdown in communication between the two politicians.
