“Enough Is Enough At 81 in 2027, Your Political Pursuits Since 1993 Should End” – Bode George Criticizes Atiku
Bode George, a prominent member of the PDP Board of Trustees, has urged former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to forgo any plans of contesting the 2027 presidential election. Speaking during a press briefing marking his 79th birthday, George appealed to Atiku to prioritize the emergence of younger candidates, emphasizing that Atiku will be 81 years old by the next election and has been pursuing the presidency since 1993.
In his words, “It’s time to calm down and act as an elder. I urge you in the name of Allah to step aside and leave the stage for posterity.”
George also expressed concern about the challenges facing the PDP, attributing them to selfish interests among party members. He described the party as a “shadow of itself” and criticized some members for allegedly collaborating with the ruling APC ahead of the 2027 elections. He called for unity and decisive action to restore the party’s integrity before the upcoming National Convention.
This strong message underscores the internal struggles within the PDP as it seeks to rebuild and strategize for future elections.
