PDP Leaders Visit ADC in Abuja as Makinde Cites Ongoing Political Developments

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has confirmed that leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) paid a solidarity visit to members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) amid ongoing political developments in Nigeria.
The meeting was held at the Abuja residence of former Senate President, David Mark, where stakeholders from both parties convened following recent protests and legal disputes involving the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Speaking to journalists in a broadcast aired by Symfoni TV on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, Makinde said the visit was intended to show support for the ADC leadership.
“We came here to visit the leadership of ADC. We’re on a solidarity visit. We’ve seen what has been happening within the political space, the courts, and the protests today,” he said.
Makinde added that the visit was informed by recent developments, including court cases and demonstrations in Abuja, and noted that the engagement was aimed at reinforcing democratic processes and promoting stability.
